Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Celebrating Halloween

Hi Everyone,
Where did September go? I always find September a very busy month. It is a month of transition. September is the last month of the Stampin' Up! year. This year has had its challenges but I met my goal of remaining at Silver Elite in the company. Thank you for your support during this crazy year! I so look forward to a time when we can craft together again.

When I was a kindergarten teacher Halloween was a big deal. I had gotten away from it since I retired. This year is a different story. I am loving making Halloween cards and projects. The local gift shop that sells my cards asked for Halloween products. I am having fun! I want to share some of the cards I have made using products from the Cute Halloween suite. I absolutely love the Designer Series Paper and stamp set. The punch was on back order so I fussy cut the images from the Designer Series Paper while watching TV. All four cards were made using two pieces of DSP. Nothing was wasted. As card makers we hate wasting paper. LOL!

The card above and the one below are basically the same except for the orientation. The above is landscape and the one below is portrait. The measurements and instructions are the same.

Measurements:

  • Thick basic white cardstock - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Boo paper from the Halloween DSP - 4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

  1. Fussy cut the images from various DSP.
  2. Die cut the DSP using the Picture This circle die.
  3. Fold the card base in half along score line.
  4. Adhere the DSP to the card front.
  5. Adhere the images to the card front as shown using Dimensionals.
  6. Using Memento Black ink stamp the sentiment in the larger circle.
The next two cards use the scraps from the above cards.

Instructions:

  1. Make the card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  2. Randomly stamp on the card front the spiders using Memento Black ink and the candy corn using Pumpkin Pie ink.
  3. Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. Matte using a left over piece of DSP. Adhere to the card front.
  4. Randomly adhere the circles from the cards above on the card front. Adhere some of the fussy cut images to the circles as shown.

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Basic White cardstock - 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 and scrap for sentiment
  • DSP - 5 1/2 x 2 (left over from the first two cards)
  • Basic Black cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

  1. Fold the card base in half and adhere the Basic Black cardstock to the card front.
  2. Adhere the DSP to the Basic White cardstock.
  3. Adhere this piece to the card front as shown (about 3/4" from the bottom)
  4. Die cut the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock using the scalloped contour die.
  5. Stamp the sentiment on the die cut using Memento Black ink.
  6. Adhere sentiment to the card front as shown using Dimensionals.
So easy to make and so cute!!! Make some Halloween cards for the special little people in your life to go along with their treat.
Have fun!

Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Window card

Hi Everyone,

Can you believe that it is December? Christmas is literally around the corner. The theme for this month's Blog Hop is a Window Card. I had to look that up on Pinterest. I found a video by Jackie Bolhuis that demonstrated this card and I fell in love with this technique.

I didn't want to make another Christmas card so I pulled out one of the stamp sets that I bought during the Online Extravaganza last month. I have been waiting to play with the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set and brighten a dreary day. There are so many colour combinations that work with this stamp set. I choose Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green. I love this combination.

Measurements:

  • Highland Heather cardstock - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Whisper White cardstock - 8 x 5 scored at 4
  • scrap of Whisper White cardstock for the window piece and sentiment

Instructions:

  1. Take the Highland Heather cardstock and die cut a square out of the front of the card - centering it on the sides and closer to the top of the card front.

  2. Cut out of the scrap Whisper White cardstock the frame for the window using the same square and a slightly bigger square as shown.
  3. Adhere the white frame to the window on the Highland Heather card front.
  4. Stamp the sentiment on a Whisper White cardstock strip using Gorgeous Grape ink and adhere it to the card front using Dimensionals.
  5. Fold the 8 x 5 piece of Whisper White cardstock in half. Stamp the front of this piece using the Blossoms in Bloom large stamp and Highland Heather ink for the blossoms, Gorgeous Grape ink for the inside of the blossoms and Granny Apple Green ink for the leaves. Stamp the inside using the same inks and a smaller blossom and leaves.

  6. Adhere the inside piece to the back inside piece of the Highland Heather card.
  7. Using White Crinkled Seam Binding wrap it around the card and tie a bow as shown.

I had so much fun making this card and playing with the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set. Why don't you give it a try?

November Stamping Symphony Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are doing well. Christmas seems like it is just around the corner. I have been busy making Christmas cards for friends and customers. I will make mine once everyone else is taken care of.

This month's Blog Hop is Christmas with a flare - I chose a fun fold card to demonstrate. I just received this paper and am having so much fun with the paper and bundle. The paper does all the work. I die cut the house from one of the DSP. They are simple enough to fussy cut too. When you purchase the Coming Home stamp set, Stampin' Up! will donate $4.00 to charities devoted to adoption, foster care and infertility. You can make a difference with your purchase. I just loved the stamp set, dies and DSP. The donation was a bonus.

Let's find out how to make this fun, simple card!

Measurements:

  • Misty Moonlight card base - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • Poppy Parade cardstock - 3 1/2 x 5 1/2; 3/4 x 5 1/2 scored at 3/4" for flap
  • Whisper White cardstock - 3 x 11 scored at 5 1/2; scrap for circle and sentiment
  • DSP (Trimming the Town DSP) - 2 3/4 x 5 1/2

Instructions:

  • Adhere the large Poppy Parade rectangle to the card front leaving an even border on the sides.
  • Fold the Whisper White cardstock in half along the score line. Adhere the DSP to the front of this piece leaving an even border on the sides.
  • Adhere the Whisper White piece with the DSP to the card front leaving and even border of Poppy Parade on the sides.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a 1/2" strip on Whisper White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink and    the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. Adhere to the card front using Dimensionals
  • Take the Poppy Parade cardstock strip and flag the end using a punch or scissors. Put adhesive      on the folded 3/4" part and adhere to the back of the card.

  • Die cut the second largest Stitched Circle from a piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Cut out one of the houses from the Trimming the Town DSP. Adhere to the Stitched Circle.
  • Adhere this piece to the center of the flag piece.

I hope you enjoyed this fun and simple card. I am going to make a bunch of these for my family and friends.
