Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Celebrating Halloween

Hi Everyone,
Where did September go? I always find September a very busy month. It is a month of transition. September is the last month of the Stampin' Up! year. This year has had its challenges but I met my goal of remaining at Silver Elite in the company. Thank you for your support during this crazy year! I so look forward to a time when we can craft together again.

When I was a kindergarten teacher Halloween was a big deal. I had gotten away from it since I retired. This year is a different story. I am loving making Halloween cards and projects. The local gift shop that sells my cards asked for Halloween products. I am having fun! I want to share some of the cards I have made using products from the Cute Halloween suite. I absolutely love the Designer Series Paper and stamp set. The punch was on back order so I fussy cut the images from the Designer Series Paper while watching TV. All four cards were made using two pieces of DSP. Nothing was wasted. As card makers we hate wasting paper. LOL!

The card above and the one below are basically the same except for the orientation. The above is landscape and the one below is portrait. The measurements and instructions are the same.

Measurements:

  • Thick basic white cardstock - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Boo paper from the Halloween DSP - 4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

  1. Fussy cut the images from various DSP.
  2. Die cut the DSP using the Picture This circle die.
  3. Fold the card base in half along score line.
  4. Adhere the DSP to the card front.
  5. Adhere the images to the card front as shown using Dimensionals.
  6. Using Memento Black ink stamp the sentiment in the larger circle.
The next two cards use the scraps from the above cards.

Instructions:

  1. Make the card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.
  2. Randomly stamp on the card front the spiders using Memento Black ink and the candy corn using Pumpkin Pie ink.
  3. Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. Matte using a left over piece of DSP. Adhere to the card front.
  4. Randomly adhere the circles from the cards above on the card front. Adhere some of the fussy cut images to the circles as shown.

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Basic White cardstock - 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 and scrap for sentiment
  • DSP - 5 1/2 x 2 (left over from the first two cards)
  • Basic Black cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4

Instructions:

  1. Fold the card base in half and adhere the Basic Black cardstock to the card front.
  2. Adhere the DSP to the Basic White cardstock.
  3. Adhere this piece to the card front as shown (about 3/4" from the bottom)
  4. Die cut the scrap piece of Basic White cardstock using the scalloped contour die.
  5. Stamp the sentiment on the die cut using Memento Black ink.
  6. Adhere sentiment to the card front as shown using Dimensionals.
So easy to make and so cute!!! Make some Halloween cards for the special little people in your life to go along with their treat.
Have fun!

Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Sale-a-bration

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since I last posted. July has been a very unexpected month for me. My mother passed away July 14th. I have been busy with funeral arrangements and taking care of my dad. They had been married 60 years in May. She had not been herself for a while but it was still a shock when it actually happened.

I have been going through renovations starting in July and continuing this month in preparation for the return of my sons, Alex and Aaron, and Alex's dog Minna.

I missed posting last month. I am back!!!!!!

Sale-a-bration has begun as well as the new Mini Catalogue! I am so excited!

Sale-a-bration runs for two months and the products are while supplies last.

Here are three ways to earn FREE Sale-a-bration products:

I am so excited to share with you my card and the other projects of the Stamping Symphony Blog Hop crew.

Who doesn't have lots of Designer Series Paper??? I DO!!! I wanted to make a card this month that uses one of the Designer Series Papers from the Sale-a-bration brochure. You can use any Designer Series Paper to make this card for any occasion. You just need to change the paper and sentiment. Easy!!!

I used the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper Sale-a-bration item to make this simple card. I absolutely love the paper in this package. When I have an order over $60.00 I have been ordering this paper. I think I have about 4 packages now. The stamp I used is from the new Mini Catalogue - Christmas to Remember stamp set. It has amazing Christmas sentiments.

Measurements:

  • Basic White cardstock - 2 pieces of 4 x 5 1/4; scrap for sentiment
  • DSP #1 (Peaceful Prints) - 2 pieces of 1 7/8 x 3
  • DSP #2 (Flip side of DSP #1) - 1 7/8 x 3 7/8
  • Real Red cardstock - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Real Red card base in half along the score line.
  2. Adhere DSP #2 along the bottom of one of the Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 pieces leaving an equal border on three sides.
  3. Adhere the two pieces of DSP #1 to the top of the Basic White piece leaving equal borders.
  4. Stamp the sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set using Real Red ink on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock.
  5. Cut out the sentiment using the die from the Scalloped Contours dies and the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine.
  6. Adhere the sentiment to the card front as shown using Dimensionals.
Give it a try with this Designer Series Paper or any you have on hand.

Stamping Symphony Blog Hop - Summer Loving

Hi Everyone:

Where did the time go? It is another Stamping Symphony Blog Hop! Our theme this month is Summer.

Thank you to all of you who participated in my BOGO Sale at the beginning of the month! I was able to match up many people with retired products they were looking for and then order new products from the new Annual Catalogue, retiring soon Mini Catalogue, Kit Collection and Clearance Rack. What a deal!

Summer seems to be here with this amazing weather! The new Annual Catalogue did not disappoint. There are awesome new stamp sets, bundles, dies, paper, embellishments and InColors. I am blown away!

Today I am featuring the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper which is absolutely beautiful, the Scalloped Contours Dies, the Genial Gems, the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon and the Create with Friends Stamp Set. The Create with Friends Stamp Set is so versatile. You can make lots of sayings using the big and small fonts. I have shown you a sample of using the same background and die and just changing the saying. The ribbon and gems add a pop to the card.

I am offering a card class on Tuesday, June 29th at 7:00 pm on Zoom using the Create with Friends Stamp Set. The cost is $40.00 which includes the stamp set, embellishments and the card kit to make 5 cards (porch pick up or postage is extra). Contact me today to sign up for this fun card class. Don't delay.

Measurements:

  • Basic White cardstock card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Basic White cardstock piece - 4 x 2 3/4 (to be die cut)
  • Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper (DSP)- 3 3/4 x 5
  • Pale Papaya cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4

  2. Adhere the piece of Pale Papaya cardstock to the front of the card.
  3. Turn the piece of DSP over and make on the short side 2 7/8". Put a glue dot on the marks.
  4. Take one end of the ribbon and stick it on one of the glue dots. Flip the ribbon to the front of the paper. pull it across the paper and press it into the other glue dot making sure the ribbon is taut. Adhere this piece to the card front.
  5. Die cut the piece of Basic White cardstock using the Scalloped Contours die.
  6. Stamp the words using Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya inks.
  7. Place the Genial Gems on this piece to decorate the front.
