Let's Use Our Pretty Paper - Part 3

Hi Everyone,
We are continuing our Let's Our Pretty Paper series. I especially love this one because if you are like me you have lots of beautiful Designer Series Paper. One sheet of 12x12 DSP can make two cards with a one inch square left over. All the DSP is used! A little while back I took a whole package of DSP and cut it up to make 24 of these type of cards. They are quick, easy and simple! My kind of card.

Measurements:

DSP - 5 1/2 x 12 score at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2 (Cut two to make two cards. Cut the 1 inch strip into two
 5 1/2 strips)

Card stock strip - 1 1/4 x 5 1/2
                  inside - 3 3/4 x 5

Whisper White cardstock - 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 and scrap piece for sentiment

Recipe:

  1. Cut the paper according to the measurements. I used Bumblebee cardstock.
  2. Fold the DSP along the score lines. The shorter piece goes to the inside.
  3. Adhere the Whisper White to the inside piece 3 3/4 x 5 piece of cardstock and adhere to the middle of the inside of the card as shown.

       4. Adhere the strip of DSP to the strip of cardstock and adhere to the front of the card.
       5. Stamp sentiment and cut out. Adhere to the front of the card using dimensionals.

On the You Are The Best card I stamp directly onto the DSP.

I enjoy making this type of card! Give it a try! Share your cards on my Facebook page or in the comments.

Have fun using your pretty paper!

Let's Use Our Pretty Paper - Part 2

Hi Everyone,
Sometimes the Designer Series Paper does all the work. You just have to a sentiment and embellishments to make a simple and beautiful card. Today I used the Whale of a Time Suite. What a fun stamp set, punch, DSP and sequins to use to make these awesome cards! The suite also comes with an impressive embossing folder and ribbon.

Measurements:

Card base -4 1/4 x 11; scored at 5 1/2 (I used Whisper White and Misty Moonlight for the card bases)

DSP - 4 x 5 1/4

Recipe:

  1. Fold card base in half.
  2. Adhere the DPS to the card base.
  3. Stamp sentiments on scrap Whisper White and cut out.
  4. The whale was cut from a piece of DSP using the Whale Punch.
  5. Adhere sequins on the card if you wish using Multipurpose glue.
Take some time to look at your DSP and see if you can make it the focal point of your card. The Whale DSP works wonderfully. One side of the DSP has a picture on it and the other side is usually monochromatic. I really love this paper and all the possibilities. These cards only show a few of the things you can do with this paper.

Have fun using your pretty paper!

Let's Use Our Pretty Paper

Hi Everyone,
Do you hoard your pretty paper waiting for the perfect project? I know I do! Now I have quite a pile of pretty paper. Let's stop hoarding our paper and start using it. In my next few posts I am going to help you use your pretty paper to make some beautiful and simple cards.

Our first samples are simple and can be masculine or feminine depending on the paper you use. All you need is two small pieces of pretty paper. I am going to use the term Designer Series Paper or DSP for short.

Here is our first sample.

Measurements:

Card base (Misty Moonlight) - 4 1/4 x 11; scored at 5 1/2

Layer (Whisper White) - 4 x 4 1/4 (Card front) and another for the inside

DSP #1 - 3 3/4 x 3                                  DSP#2 - 3 3/4 x 2

Ribbon - Misty Moonlight 4 1/2 and 3

Scrap piece of Whisper White for sentiment

Recipe:

  1. Cut pieces as described above.
  2. Fold card base in half.
  3. Adhere DSP #1 to the Whisper White layer leaving about an 1/8" border on top and sides.
  4. Adhere DSP #2 to the layer right below the top DSP.
  5. Adhere the longer ribbon to the card along the line between the two DSP pieces. Tie the smaller piece of ribbon onto the longer piece of ribbon.
  6. Stamp a sentiment, cut it out and adhere to the front of the card using dimensionals.
  7. Adhere the second piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card.
You can use this recipe for any DSP to make a beautiful and simple card.

Have fun!

New Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,
Another month has flown by since our last Blog Hop! I am excited to be a part of this Blog Hop! Our theme this month is Products from the new Annual Catalogue! Once you have looked at my card you can click on the links below to see the cards of the other Stampin' Up! demonstrators who are participating. Thank you Leena, Sandy, Barb and Jenn for allowing me to join your group!

I remember when I was teaching Kindergarten and we were making a graph or taking a poll I would say that you can only choose one favourite. Boy, do I regret saying those words. I can't pick a favourite from this new catalogue. So I am going to say that right now this is my favourite stamp set - Ridiculously Awesome. Ronda Wade, a million dollar demonstrator, inspired this stamp set. I follow her on Facebook. The design of this card was featured on one of her Facebook Lives years ago. I made 300 Christmas cards last year using this design. I wanted to share this easy and fun design with you today.

Recipe

  • Cut a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP) 4"x 10 1/2". Fold the paper in half and then fold down the top part about an inch and a half.
  • Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight ribbon 12". Wrap around the small flap of the DSP and tie a knot.
  • Adhere this piece onto a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Cut a piece of 4" x 1 1/2" Misty Moonlight DSP and adhere to the front of the card as shown.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set using Misty Moonlight ink on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Cut out using the Big Shot and Tasteful Labels dies. Adhere to the front of the card using Dimensionals.
  • Inside of the card - Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock 3 3/4" x 5". Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". Stamp the small heart from the stamp set using Misty Moonlight ink on the Very Vanilla cardstock in the top left corner. Adhere the Very Vanilla cardstock to the Misty Moonlight cardstock. Slide into the pocket.
  • Enjoy!
This card is so much fun to make! Try it yourself and let me know what you think.
