August-December Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Another month has flown by since our last Blog Hop! It is difficult to believe it is the middle of August already. Our theme this month is the new August-December Mini Catalogue. Once you have looked at my card you can click on the links below to see the cards of the other Stampin' Up! demonstrators who are participating.

For my card I used a number of new products from the new Mini Catalogue - Nativity Dies, Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder and the For Unto Us stamp set.

I used a sponging technique on the embossed cardstock using two of the new InColours inks- Misty Moonlight and Just Jade. I love the effect it made on the card. I teared the white cardstock to make snow and lightly sponged it to give it some depth and texture.

I kept my card simple because I wanted the stable and sentiment as the focal point.

Measurements:

  • Misty Moonlight cardstock - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Whisper White cardstock - 4 x 5 1/4 (2) one for embossing and one for the inside                                                   1 3/4 x 4
  • scrap of Cinnamon Cider cardstock for the stable

Recipe:

  1. Fold the Misty Moonlight cardstock in half along the score line.
  2. Adhere one of the large Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the card.
  3. Emboss one piece of the large Whisper White cardstock using the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder and the Big Shot or the new Stampin' Up! Cut and Emboss Machine.
  4. Use Just Jade ink and a sponge to colour the trees. Sponge off some of the ink on a scrap piece of paper before applying it to the trees gently. You can always add more colour if you wish.
  5. Use Misty Moonlight ink and a sponge to colour the sky. Use the same technique as above.
  6. Adhere this piece to the card front.
  7. Take the small piece of Whisper White cardstock and tear along the long edge. Lightly sponge this piece using Misty Moonlight. I used whatever ink was left on the sponge after doing the sky.
  8. Stamp the sentiment using Cinnamon Cider ink.
  9. Adhere this piece to the bottom of the embossed piece on the front.
  10. Die cut the stable out of the Cinnamon Cider cardstock using the Nativity Dies and the Big Shot or the new Stampin' Up! Cut and Emboss Machine. Adhere the stable to the front of the card as shown.
