Let's Use Our Pretty Paper

Hi Everyone,
Do you hoard your pretty paper waiting for the perfect project? I know I do! Now I have quite a pile of pretty paper. Let's stop hoarding our paper and start using it. In my next few posts I am going to help you use your pretty paper to make some beautiful and simple cards.

Our first samples are simple and can be masculine or feminine depending on the paper you use. All you need is two small pieces of pretty paper. I am going to use the term Designer Series Paper or DSP for short.

Here is our first sample.

Measurements:

Card base (Misty Moonlight) - 4 1/4 x 11; scored at 5 1/2

Layer (Whisper White) - 4 x 4 1/4 (Card front) and another for the inside

DSP #1 - 3 3/4 x 3                                  DSP#2 - 3 3/4 x 2

Ribbon - Misty Moonlight 4 1/2 and 3

Scrap piece of Whisper White for sentiment

Recipe:

  1. Cut pieces as described above.
  2. Fold card base in half.
  3. Adhere DSP #1 to the Whisper White layer leaving about an 1/8" border on top and sides.
  4. Adhere DSP #2 to the layer right below the top DSP.
  5. Adhere the longer ribbon to the card along the line between the two DSP pieces. Tie the smaller piece of ribbon onto the longer piece of ribbon.
  6. Stamp a sentiment, cut it out and adhere to the front of the card using dimensionals.
  7. Adhere the second piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card.
You can use this recipe for any DSP to make a beautiful and simple card.

Have fun!
